2024 SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

General Requirements/Information

Interns must be current students at an accredited college or university
Interns must be able to receive course credit for their internship with JGR through their school
Written verification from intern’s school that they will be receiving course credit is also required
Internship program will run generally from the beginning of June through mid-August 2024
Select weekends will be required for certain positions to travel to NASCAR racing events
Internships will take place at Joe Gibbs Racing headquarters in Huntersville, NC

Please note: Internships are for college or university credit only. These are NOT paid internships.

1. Social/Digital Media Internship
Reports to: Chief Digital Officer & Director of Social/Digital Media

Essential Job Functions:

Ability and motivation to capture, create, produce, and post content (video, written, photo, etc.)
Major Plus: A personal or professional social media channel that shows past work will be a major plus, especially TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram Reels
Good writing abilities, solid grammar and spelling, and basic familiarity with styles of copywriting
The desire and ability to uncover stories (both small and large) and publish them (be it in the form of social media posts, blogs, video, etc.)
Brainstorm and ideate around team goals and priorities.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
This position requires a team player and someone who thrives in a highly collaborative environment.
Junior or Senior standing at 4-year accredited University or College.
Approved Internship Program
Minimum 3.0 GPA

2. Aerodynamics Engineering Internship

Essential Job Functions:

Provide CAD support to aerodynamics group using NX and Teamcenter
Development of CFD models and creation of parts required for wind tunnel testing
Aid in the pre- and post-processing of Star CCM+ CFD cases
Travel to local wind tunnel tests to provide engineering support
Attend department meetings, contribute to team discussions, including asking questions around planning, execution, and conclusions reached on the assigned tasks

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from an ABET-Accredited program in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
Junior or Senior level undergraduate status
Cumulative 3.5/4.0 GPA, or higher
Willing to learn, dependable, and would work well in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Experience preferred in MS Office applications, 3D CAD, and MATLAB/ Simulink.
Excellent teamwork skills and ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a rapidly moving environment

3. Vehicle Production & Vehicle Metrology Internship

Essential Job Functions:

Engineering tasks supporting the vehicle production and vehicle metrology group at Joe Gibbs Racing.
Supporting additive manufacturing
Data analysis and data entry of measured items
Information organization during vehicle production

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Applicant must have basic knowledge of CAD and knowledge of Microsoft suite. Programing knowledge of Python and Visual Basic is a benefit but not required.
Must be able to be organized and detailed regarding completion of work. Applicant needs the ability to work on multiple projects at ones and self-manage deadlines.

4. Licensing/Retail Internship
Reports to: Director of Licensing/Retail

Work with Director of Licensing to prepare for 2025 Licensing renewals – Update licensee lists and prepare/update new folders in SharePoint, royalty spreadsheets, create tracking system
Develop Product Planning Calendar for 2025 Season
Develop a visual book of product line offerings – present forward trends for future product development opportunities. Work with CASTORE on 2025 Retail Line finalization
Work with Licensing Director to prepare for 2025 Licensing renewals – Update licensee lists and prepare/update new folders in SharePoint, royalty spreadsheets, create tracking system.
Provide analytical support using internal data on merchandising and promotional opportunities and summer sales trends.
Provide support in the JGR Retail Store

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
This position requires a highly motivated self-starter with a love for details and accuracy.
Junior or Senior standing at 4 year accredited University or College.

5. Sponsorship Sales Department Internship

Reports to: Vice President of Sponsorship Sales

Category Research- growing companies, trends, increasing media spends, potential leverage points, targeted consumers/customers

Create/Add to sponsorship corporate database

Create customized sponsorship proposals/ power point presentations

Research other professional sports properties

Support current JGR partners/sponsors
