Hello Mr. McDonnell: I have read a lot of forums about whether a retorque is necessary on aluminum heads after a couple of start ups. The more I read the more confused I get as I cannot seems to get a consistent answer. Some say yes some say no. So I figured I would ask somebody that would surely know. I installed a 383 in my corvette have 200 miles on the car. Is this something that needs to be done. I will do it if I need to but it’s going to be a pain. If the answer is yes do I do it when the engine is cold or warm. I’ve also read where you are supposed to back off the bolts and then retorque them which does not make sense to me. Thank you for your time. I truly appreciate it. Have a great Christmas. Charles
