Joe Gibbs Racing proudly welcomes Thomasville, N.C.-native Brian Vickers to their driver lineup for the 2013 season. In his 12th year competing in the NASCAR ranks, the 29-year-old driver joins Joe Gibbs Racing to pilot the No. 20 Dollar General Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Vickers’ interest in motorsports began at the young age of eight when he climbed behind the wheel of a go-kart, and his natural talent quickly emerged.
Vickers made his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut in 2001 and landed his first fulltime ride with Hendrick Motorsports for the 2003 Nationwide Series season. Vickers made a name for himself in 2003, tallying three wins, 13 top-five finishes and 21 top-10 finishes en route to winning the 2003 NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship title. At 20 years of age, Vickers became the youngest Nationwide Series Champion in NASCAR history.
