In 2008, Michael became the crew chief for Marc Davis who finished fifth in final Camping World East points standings after leading the series in most laps lead.
2007 proved to be a successful year after a seven-win run with driver Joey Logano, who is now a full-time driver behind the wheel of the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota in the Sprint Cup Series. Sibley would go on to win the 2007 Championship Crew Chief for the then named Busch East Series.
It was in 2005 that Joe Gibbs Racing welcomed Michael as a mechanic for the No. 19 Busch Series ride, driven by Bobby Labonte and the following season by Aric Almirola.
From 2000-2004, Sibley helped develop the No. 32 Busch North Team of Dale Quarterly. He led the team to six wins and two top-5 year end points finishes.
Sibley's home track is Stafford Motor Speedway. In the early 80's, he built and raced motorcycles in the AMA National Hill Climb Series, and also raced a Super Gas car in the NHRA for five years. His first job in racing included working in a machine shop building race engines for NASCAR Tour Models, Prostocks, and Late Models. At the same time, he was working on a LM team at Stafford Motor Speedway in CT.
Michael is originally from Monson, MA where he earned a degree in Electro Laser Optics and a second degree in Electronics Technology from Springfield Technical College. He received additional education in the field of technical management from Western New England College.
Michael has always been into cars and racing. "I have always been a gear head. If I could take it apart, see how it works, modify it, and make it faster, I was into it. It didn't matter if it was motorcycles, cars, boats, or snowmobiles."
Sibley resides in Kannapolis, NC with his wife Patricia.
