Kyle Busch Hungry for Victory at Indy

While most NASCAR Sprint Cup Series competitors spent last weekend away from the racetrack, Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 Snickers Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), raced. And, as he's done a lot this year, not only did he race, he won.

Chicago Recap

Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 M&M's Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), fought a scrape with the wall and engine woes to finish 33rd in Saturday night's LifeLock.com 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Ill.

After qualifying sixth in the 43-car field, Busch held his position within the top-10 until his first pit stop of the day on lap 40 of the 267-lap race. The pit stop went well, with the M&M's team gaining Busch four spots on pit road, allowing him to restart the race in fifth when the green flag dropped anew on lap 43.

But shortly after the restart, things began to go terribly wrong for Busch and Co. Busch keyed his microphone and said his car "flipped a switch," as it went from a

Chicago Preview: Quotes

Last year was the first night race at Chicago. What did you learn about how the racetrack changes at night as opposed to other 1.5-mile tracks that you race on?

"The biggest thing I learned last year was the track didn't change much, to be honest with you. It just got cooler and gained grip. The balance didn't change a lot. That was pretty cool to see. Charlotte, we go there and it's probably the most temperamental track as far as temperature. It's so hot during the day and you're sideways loose, busting your butt and then, all of a sudden, you get to nighttime and you're knocking every wall down with the right-front corner. At Chicago, it didn't change much, the track was well-lit, and everything went well in both races there last year."

Where does last year's Sprint Cup win at Chicago rank in terms of special wins for you, knowing how you made a spectacular move on the outside to win?

"Winning both races at Chicago last year, it was just a great weekend. It was special, but there have been several special wins the last couple of years. Winning at Atlanta, Daytona and Infineon last year, and

Chicago Preview

The wildly popular 1980 movie The Blues Brothers featured two main characters - played by actors Dan Ackroyd and the late John Belushi - with "Joliet" Jake Blues played by Ackroyd, and Jake's brother Elwood Blues played by Belushi.

The movie tells a tale of redemption for paroled convict Jake as he and his brother Elwood leave Joliet (Ill.) Prison and set out on a mission to save the Roman Catholic orphanage in which they grew up from foreclosure.

Last year at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, Kyle Busch, driver of the No. 18 M&M'S Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR), played the role of "Joliet" Kyle, as he captured wins in both the Nationwide and NASCAR Sprint Cup events at the track just southwest of Chicago.

Daytona Race Report

Kyle Busch led only one lap in Saturday night's Coke Zero 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway, but that independent lap happened to be one lap short of allowing Busch to take home an Independence Day win.

The driver of the No. 18 Interstate Batteries Toyota Camry for Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) was involved in some last lap fireworks on July 4 as contact with the No. 14 car of Tony Stewart thwarted a win just a few yards short of the finish line. Instead of celebrating his 16th career Sprint Cup victory and his second point-paying win at Daytona, Busch instead had to settle for a 14th-place finish.

"We went for it right there at the end," said crew chief Steve Addington. "This is a product of
