This Week at the Shop: Testing

The final road course race of the season takes place in two weeks in Watkins Glen, NY. This unique race presents a great opportunity for teams outside of a Chase position to clinch a wild card spot with a win. Earlier this week, JGR sent its road course cars at Road Atlanta, a track where teams are permitted by NASCAR to test.  Road Course expert Max Papis joined Joey Logano for the test to provide invaluable insight and instructions for improving road course techniques. This Week at the Shop: Indy Prep

One of the biggest races of the season happens this weekend in Indianapolis, IN. Each of our three NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams are busy preparing their primary and backup cars for this big event. The cars are stationed on laser-leveled setup plates and final checklists are sorted through. Tungsten weights are used during the setup process to achieve optimum balance.  They come in several weights and fit nicely inside the framerails. NASCAR is allowing the teams a test day on the Thursday before the normal weekend events begin. During this test we will be able to have data acquisition on our racecars to gather telemetry and data related to the performance of different aspects of the racecar.
