Gresham Retains Points Lead

Max Gresham rolled to a seventh-place finish as rain and wrecking cut short the New Hampshire 125 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Friday.

The event, which was started under threatening skies, came to a sudden conclusion when Scott Bouley pounded the Turn 2 inside retaining wall on Lap 70. Persistent rain during the ensuing caution flag curtailed the race on Lap 78, well short of its scheduled 125-lap distance.

Gresham Grabs 10th at Salem

SALEM, IN (SEPTEMBER 18, 2011) – The final rundown of will show Max Gresham finished 10th in Saturday’s Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Kentuckiana Ford Dealers Fall Classic at Salem (IN) Speedway.

In reality, Gresham was way better than that.

Gresham and his No. 55 Venturini Motorsports entry were easily the fastest car throughout most of the 200-lap event on the treacherous Salem half-mile oval, but a cut tire and a green-flag pit stop for new rubber in the early going put him four laps down to the leaders.

Challenges in Chicago

The start of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup was delayed thanks to rain that forced the running of the Geico 400 at Chicagoland Speedway to today. When it was over Joey Logano would lead Joe Gibbs Racing with a 17th-place finish, while Kyle Busch would come up just short on fuel to finish 22nd and two separate tire issues would relegate Hamlin to a 31st-place finish.
