The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest
  • Joey Logano will make his second NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) start at Atlanta Motor Speedway (AMS) this weekend when he takes the green flag for Sunday's Pep Boys Auto 500. Logano qualified 42nd in March and was in the 21st position with less than 50 laps to go when he was hit from behind and sent into the wall. He brought The Home Depot Toyota home in the 30th position.
  • Logano grew up racing around AMS, but on the smaller front-stretch oval in Bandoleros and Legends cars. In fact, Logano still holds the track record for consecutive wins in a Legends car with 14 victories in 2002. He captured several track and national titles while competing at Atlanta.

The Home Depot Team Finishes 34th after Early Incident at Bristol

RISTOL, Tenn. (August 22, 2009) ----- Joey Logano and The Home Depot Team had one of the strongest cars all day on Friday during practice and qualifying at Bristol Motor Speedway. Unfortunately it took less than five laps on Saturday night to destroy their hopes of a top finish. After contact was made on the track in the opening laps, The Home Depot Toyota suffered an eventual flat tire on lap 11 that caused Logano to spin and hit the wall. The team was able to repair the car to get it back on the track, but lost 16 laps to finish 34th.

"That was one of the most disappointing evenings," said Logano. "The Home Depot Toyota was fast right off the truck and we tuned on it all day Friday. We had a solid qualifying run, so you'd think starting in the top 10 would be one of the safest places on the track. Well, not tonight. After I got hit, the tire gave out like five or six laps later. The guys did a great job to get me back out on the track, but it was no fun to be out there for 480 laps knowing you have really fast car and can't do anything to about it."

Joey Logano flexed the muscle of the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota in the CARFAX 400 at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday. Logano competed in the top 10 throughout much of the 200-lap race and finished the day with a seventh-place finish - a dramatically different performance than his first trip to the Irish Hills of Michigan in June.

"It was a good run," Logano said of the race. "We over-adjusted a little bit the last pit stop, got us a little free, but for the most part we had a really good Home Depot Toyota. We started the race up front, we were running up good in the top-five and track position was key as usual. Every time I got a restart it seemed like
