Reser’s Fine Foods Increases Sponsorship to Seven Races; GameStop Returns for Seventh Season with 10 Races
Joe Gibbs Racing announces today that Reser’s Fine Foods and GameStop will return in 2014 to sponsor Matt Kenseth in the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota NASCAR Nationwide Series Toyota.
Reser’s Fine Foods will appear on JGR’s No. 20 Toyota seven times during the 2014 season starting with the season opening race at Daytona International Speedway on Saturday, February 22. Meanwhile, GameStop will return for their seventh season with JGR in the Nationwide Series with 10 races that start in Las Vegas on March 8 and conclude with the season finale at Homestead on November 15.
Last season Kenseth returned to drive in the NASCAR Nationwide Series for the first time since a single race in the 2011 season. Kenseth made 16 total starts in 2013 and recorded two wins, seven top-five and 14 top-ten finishes. He gave each of his sponsors a trip to victory lane, winning the July Daytona race with GameStop and giving Reser’s Fine Foods its first ever win in October at Kansas.
“It’s exciting to have GameStop and Reser’s Fine Foods back on board with us this season,” said Kenseth. “They are tremendous partners and I am looking forward to working with Kevin (crew chief Kevin Kidd). Hopefully we can provide a few celebrations for each of them in victory lane this season.”
The No. 20 Reser’s Fine Foods Toyota will appear in seven races in 2014 beginning with the season opener in Daytona on February 22. The seven race schedule for Reser’s Fine Foods is as follows:
|August 9||Watkins Glen|
“We applaud the determination and winning drive Matt and JGR displayed last year,” said Mark Reser, president and CEO of Reser’s Fine Foods. “Sponsoring this championship caliber team helps us increase the visibility of our brands and reach new customers in key markets across the country. It’s a win-win partnership.”
Meanwhile the No. 20 GameStop Toyota will appear in 10 races in 2014 beginning in Las Vegas. The complete schedule for GameStop is as follows:
|March 8||Las Vegas|
“Our GameStop team is thrilled to have Matt back as our driver and for him to be wheeling the No. 20 Toyota again for us,” said Bob Puzon, senior vice president of merchandising for GameStop. “I’ve been a fan of NASCAR for more than 20 years, and the excitement surrounding Matt has never been higher. Of course, it also doesn’t hurt that he is also a huge gamer. I hear he tells people gaming is his ‘homework’ since GameStop is his sponsor. Not only is Matt great for NASCAR, he’s great for GameStop. We look forward to a very successful year with the No. 20 team.”
Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) announces today that it has signed driver Sam Hornish, Jr. to drive the No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota in seven NASCAR Nationwide Series races in 2014.
“I’m excited about driving the No. 54 Monster Energy car this year. It’s a great opportunity for me,” said Hornish. “It’s the best possible situation for me to jump into great equipment and have the opportunity to go right out and win. After working with Penske for 10 years and now to have the opportunity to partner with Joe Gibbs Racing, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. These are great people, top notch. To partner with Kyle, and all this team provides, with the support of Joe and J.D., it provides me with everything I need to succeed. It’s also a phenomenal opportunity for me to partner with a market leader such as Monster Energy. The brand identity and fan following that goes along with this sponsor is super. I can’t wait to get into that car!”
The No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota will run a full season schedule for JGR with crew chief Adam Stevens returning to call the shots from atop the pit box. Kyle Busch will return to pilot the Camry in 26 races, while Hornish will fill the driver’s seat in the remaining seven races.
