How has Michigan changed the past few races after the repaved?
“Michigan is certainly a track that has gone through a lot of changes after the repave. It’s very fast and has a lot of grip, and that has made it difficult to get a tire that we can run and pass with. We have had a couple wins at Michigan, but haven’t seemed to get the handle on it like we would like to since they repaved it. Earlier this year, we were just so loose entering the corner that we couldn’t make any speed. I’m confident that the guys have worked hard to get a good setup in the car heading back to the track this weekend.” Read more

Joe Gibbs Racing got off to a rough start in today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series GoBowling.com 400 from Pocono Raceway with a lap one wreck providing a big setback to Matt Kenseth’s day and Denny Hamlin suffering a race-ending accident just 14 laps into the race.
Kyle Busch managed to fair much better running in the top five for much of the day before earning JGR’s best finish of the day in eighth. Meanwhile the lap one wreck proved to only be the start of a rough day for Kenseth, who finished 22nd and the early end to Hamlin’s day left him back in 43rd. Read more
What are your expectations heading back into Pocono this weekend?
“Pocono is a track that this FedEx team has a lot of success at over the years. Before they repaved it a few years ago, it was a track that we circled on our calendars as one to expect to run up front and compete for the win. It has been a little bit challenging the last few races, but our team is working hard to try to get back that advantage. We weren’t the strongest car at Pocono in June, but we got ourselves a top-10 finish and we need to start stringing some good finishes together. Pocono is a great place to do that.” Read more
