From Spin to Win For Logano!

Joey Logano won his first race at the Daytona International Speedway Saturday night in his No. 20 SportClip Toyota! He had to fight his way from the rear of the field three times en route to his big win. After his qualifying run earlier in the day, his team has to change a clutch, forcing him to start at the rear of the field. Early in the race Logano spun into turn three off the bumper of the No. 11 car after slowing to avoid a competition who was off the pace. Then, about halfway through the event, Logano pitted for a loose wheel, sealing his third trip to the rear of the field.

With roughly 25 laps remaining, Logano found help from his teammate Kyle Busch in the No. 18 NOS Charged Citrus Toyota. Together they fought to the lead several times. When the white flag flew, Joey was leading Kyle in 5th and 6th. When they exited turn 2 they shot to the outside of the 66 and 62 cars and were eventually able to hold off another tandem making a charge coming to the checkered flag. Kyle Busch ended up 4th.

Calamity ensued just behind them as a 12-car wreck broke out. Brian Scott wasn’t able to avoid the mayhem, but did manage to finish 12th with heavy damage.
