Date: June 13, 2008
Event: LifeLock 400
Series: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Location: Michigan International Speedway (2.0-mile D-Oval)

Rain canceled today’s qualifying session for the LifeLock 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. As a result, the 43-car field for Sunday’s 200-lap race was set by current car owner points per the NASCAR rulebook.

Kyle Busch will lead the three-car Joe Gibbs Racing contingent by virtue of the No. 18 team’s first-place standing in car owner points. Denny Hamlin follows in fifth, while Tony Stewart will line up 12th.

Jeff Burton will start alongside Busch at the front of row one, while Dale Earnhardt Jr. Carl Edwards and Hamlin comprise the top-five. Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne and Kevin Harvick complete the top-10.

Forty-five drivers were slated to qualify for the LifeLock 400. Those not making the cut in the 43-car field were Jason Leffler and Tony Raines.

The LifeLock 400 gets underway at 2 p.m. EDT on Sunday, June 16 with live, high-definition coverage provided by TNT beginning with its pre-race show at 12:30 p.m. The race will also be broadcast on SIRIUS Satellite Radio Channel 128.
