Yeley completed two days of NASCAR Busch Series testing at Charlotte on Monday and Tuesday in preparation for the upcoming race on Memorial Day weekend. On Monday afternoon during the first day of testing, Yeley posted his fastest lap of 183.430 mph in the #18 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS. That lap was good enough to put Yeley 6th on the speed chart out of 36 cars. Later in the evening on the first day of testing, Yeley was 9th fastest of 39 cars at 185.312 mph. Then on Tuesday, the final day of testing at Charlotte for the NASCAR Busch Series teams, Yeley put two cars inside the top 10. His #18b Chevrolet was 4th fastest at 185.058 mph, while his #18b was 10th quick at 184.622 mph. A total of 54 cars tested in that session. In the final session on Tuesday night, Yeley put his #18 Chevy 8th on the board with a lap of 185.008 mph. Then he hopped in JGR’s #19 and ran a lap of 185.746 mph, good enough for 4th fastest out of 48 cars. “That was a very beneficial test for us,” said Yeley. “We definitely learned some things about the new racing surface, and we’ll try to use those things when we come back for the race. I’m proud of the effort given by everyone on our Vigoro / Home Depot team.” |
